Friendship stays

I have met some pretty special people through the shop, and one of the most special is Pat

I absolutely adore Pat, she is so kind and caring, a genuine soul and she has the most wicked sense of humour

I made this card for her birthday which was a couple of weeks ago

Pat recently lost her lovely husband so her birthday this time round was never going to be a 'happy' one  I felt a different sentiment was in order for this card - I thought this Stampin' Up stamp was a much more fitting choice of words.

I used plain cardstock for all the layers, the sentiment and image are both by Stampin' Up and the background was created with Distress inks

Baby book

My son Robbie was recently asked by one of his best friends to be one of the Godfathers to his little girl Evie.

Robbie was stumped as to a gift for the christening so I offered to make a memory book to hold some of those first special photos

The front cover with a recent photo of Evie

The first / title page with a photo borrowed from facebook

I kept all the pages fairly simple and each has a photo mat ready for Reece and Shauna to put their favourite photos into

I used a cuttlebug alphabet to die cut all the lettering ( Amy was a little star and did most of these for me)

For the final page I added an envelope so they can add a few 'non photos' as keepsakes

I use a Melissa Frances 8 x 8 inch album and Melissa Frances patterned papers

Apologies

Apologies

I have been in a little bit of a funk lately

I have not felt like blogging

I have not much felt like crafting

There is nothing wrong

Nothing amiss

Just one of those things

I am blaming it on the heat !

Anyhow, thanks for staying with me, I will try and be a better blogger

I have a couple of cards to share tonight

The first one is for one of Neil's work colleagues who has recently had a heart attack, he is ok but it will be a little while before he is back to his usual self, so Neil wanted to send him a card to let him know he is being thought of whilst he is recuperating.

The tree is a by Stampin' Up, I have embossed it with a shabby black embossing powder, and then used a little simple masking to create the background with distress inks

This second card was made by my lovely niece Katie, she has been to stay with me and Neil for a couple of weeks and has been an absolute delight.

She asked me if I would help her make a card for her grannies birthday

She came up with the colours and design and then chose an image from google of her grannies favourite creature - the dolphin

Katie drew and coloured the dolphin herself and we downloaded and printed the sea background

I think she did a beautiful job - well done Katie xxx
