Happy Easter

Happy Easter to you all in blogland

I am really happy to announce that It's a Creative World is back up and running after a little break.

The girls have all been busy creating some fabulous Easter projects to inspire.

Here is the scrapbook page I made for our Easter Weekend relaunch

Details of the page can be found on the It's a Creative World blog, please pop along and have a peep at what all the other girls have been up to.

A big thankyou to my dear friend Margaret who allowed me use of this super cute pic of her grandsons William and Oliver.

The page design and colours were totally inspired by those bunny ears.

Please note Running With Scissors will be closed tomorrow, I have decided to take the day off to spend with my family, sorry for any inconvenience caused, we will be open as per usual from Tuesday and running all the regular classes next week.

Also a big thankyou to everyone who came to class this morning and to the crop this afternoon, especially those who brought hot cross buns, chocolates, muffins, cakes and biscuits, it has been a lovely day and a perfect start to the weekend, thankyou xxx

And on that note I will bid you all goodnight and a very Happy Easter xxx

Dress up time

Remember when you were a little girl and we got those fun magazines with dolls in that you cut out, along with all the clothes ( which came with handy hanging tabs)

Well I do, and I can tell you that my love affair with paper started around the time I was old enough to be let loose with scissors on those cute little paper dolls.

Imagine the delight Julie Nutting has reignited with her gorgeous new line of stamps.

Along with a lot of my friends at the shop I have been totally smitten by this cute new trend in stamping and can't get enough of these.

I have loads of body parts and frocks all over my workspace but for now, here are the four I have finished.

The tags were created from plain cardstock, and decorated with the new Tim Holtz distress paints

I used Dylusions stencils and Distress inks to create further details on the backgrounds

And the dollies were all paper pieced from scraps

The colours are a lot brighter and bolder than my usual style, but I wanted to stretch myself and have fun, experiment and think a little 'out of the box'

I think I may have a new addiction !

Tags on tuesday

This was the project the tuesday girls undertook on our weekly get together

Chipboard tags - which were provided by Carole, thanks Carole

I used gesso followed by Distress inks for the backgrounds, with a little bit of stamping

The images were cut out of Melissa Frances patterned paper

I added the tickets (from Carole) and various embellishments, the metal flowers and ribbons were from Margaret, thankyou xxx

Sewing Room

Tonight I have another one of our 'Tuesday afternoon' projects to share.

This one is from a couple of weeks ago, I am playing catch up and only managed to complete mine a couple of days ago, but, at least it is finally finished ! Thanks for the push Margaret xxx

Anita bought me the scissors ages ago, and she also contributed the chipboard,  the pin was from Penrith Crafts and is made by Prima, the Muslin was a gift from Sue ( thankyou), and the dress dies and smaller dress form were borrowed from Linda.

I think everything else came from my stash.

As always thankyou for a lovely afternoon of crafting, although we do more chatting and eating than crafting normally !

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my lovely mum, who means the absolute world to me.

This is the card I made for her.

I used my new Nesties which we have just take delivery of in the shop and some new Melissa Frances papers which are so soft and pretty, definitely perfect for a special card.

The butterfly is die cut, the decorative pin from Prima and the sentiment is computer generated.

I create a 'same but different' card for Neil's mum, using a mint green palette this time.

I received this MASSIVE cookie from the kids, Amy made me a card with a  picture she had drawn and I also received two gorgeous designer swimming costumes ( I think daddy might have had a hand in choosing those)
Mum and dad also came for the day, so, it has been pretty much the perfect Mothers Day. It has been a little strange watching the snow fall as we are all tucked up warm inside stuffing ourselves with a roast dinner and cheesecake. Hard to believe we were camping in the Lakes this time two years ago and wearing t-shirts, today it has been hard to imagine camping as the temperature has fallen below zero and the ground is white over !

Happy mothers day to all you mum's and grannies out there, I hope you have all been spoiled and enjoyed your day as much as I have, and an extra special happy Mothers day to my own mum who I love with the whole of my heart xxx
